The announcement was signed by Stella Charles Akupue, who is designated as Communication Officer of the Nigerian Bar Association.

This mode of communication raises questions regarding why an official announcement was issued through a Communication Officer rather than the office of the National Publicity Secretary, which traditionally functions as the principal publicity and public communication office for the organisation.

The notice did not clarify whether Akupue issued the statement on behalf of the National Publicity Secretary, the President, a specific committee overseeing the fellowship or another authorized organ of the Bar. Further clarification from the leadership may be necessary regarding the communication structure under which the notice was released and the respective roles of the Communication Officer and the National Publicity Secretary in issuing official statements.
